This has been one of the strangest days of my life. Nothing happened according to my plans, but it turned out great anyway. It reminded me of the thrill of the spontaneous! Heres today's list:

*Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Lets do it - The White Stripes
Fever - Adam Lambert
Beyond Here Lies Nothin' - Bob Dylan
Flesh And Bone - Alien Ant Farm
Sleepwalker - Adam Lambert
*Baba O'Riley - The Who
Born To Hand Jive Sha-Na-Na
We're All In This Together - High School Musical 3
Skies So Blue The Rocket Summer
Aliens Exist - Blink-182
It's All Over Now - Rod Stewart

Back-to-back award: "O Holy Night" by Celine Dion, then "The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" by In Memory. Its seriously a disorrienting way to start the day. I thought it was late December. Fun though haah.

Embarrassing song of the day: "We're All In This Together" by High School Musical 3. I blame Schen. Effing teenagers singing in high school on disney channel...

I could listen to this all day award: "1 2 3 4" by Feist. I first heard this song back in 2007 when Taylor Lumadue and i were hanging out at her apartment. We were supposed to be studying for a culinary class and youtubed instead. She showed me the video and i loved it. The lyrics of this one are pretty universal for anyone who has fallen in love while young.

One Two Three Four
Tell me that you love me more
Sleepless, long nights
That was what my youth was for

Oh teenage hopes are alive at your door
Left you with nothing
But they want some more

Oh, oh, oh
You're changing your heart
Oh, oh, oh
You know who you are

Sweetheart, bitter heart
Now I can't tell you apart
Cozy and cold
Put the horse before the cart

Those teenage hopes
Who have tears in their eyes
Too scared to own up
To one little lie

I love how many celebrities show up on Sesame Street. I was trying to find the feist video and got distracted. OMG please, please watch this:

How amazing is he?? hahaha "8 stunning angles!"

Stuck in my head all day and i LOVED IT! song of the day: "Fever" by Adam Lambert. Lady Gaga wrote this one, so you know right away its going to be fabulous. I was singing it all day and it made me feel more sexy than usual. I still cant stop. You should download this one if you like anything pop ish or dance ish. I love the imagery of the lyric "sexual tic-tac-toe". Mmmmm...

There he goes
My baby walks so slow
Sexual tic-tac-toe
Yeah I know we both know
It isn't time, no
But could you be m-mine?

Almost Gold Star: "Baba O'Riley" by The Who. This may be my favorite non-Tommy song by The Who! Another great teenage song, and the idea of a "teenage wasteland." Its very accurate for how youth can feel.

Gold Star: "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It gets a gold star because of the first 34 seconds alone. And thats even before the slide guitar comes in (you KNOW how i feel about slide guitar. i basically would marry it if an instrument could become incarnated in a person). Here is a fun fact (thanks wikipedia)- "Allen Collins's then-girlfriend, Kathy, whom he later married, asked him, "If I leave here tomorrow would you still remember me?". Collins jotted the question down and it eventually became the opening line of "Free Bird"." Today when i listened to it, my mind went to a girl who was sharing with me recently. She had me listen to some songs about leaving, and told me how she feels like she is destined to always be moving on. I thought of her today when this one came on.

Bye, bye, baby it's been a sweet love
Though this feeling I can't change
But please don't take it so badly
'Cause the Lord knows
I'm to blame

But, if I stayed here with you girl
Things just couldn't be the same
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird, you'll can not change

This one's for you today.

Throwback award: "Aliens Exist" by Blink-182. I love a good oldie (um i know, its only from the 90's, im being funny). I still remember every word to the whole Enema of the State album. I think it is required angsty teenage listening.

okkkaaaayyyyy so, apparently today's theme was being a teenager. Adolescence. Young love. All that jazz. It kind of freaks me out when a lot of the songs tie together so well, but like i said, today was a freaky ass day.

More to come tomorrow

Songs Left: 7,522
Days to Go: 323
