Most "how im feeling today" song of the day: "Checkmarks" by The Academy Is. I heard this one for the first time today and they had me in one line: "Your bedroom behavior was never more than checkmarks on bedposts." Deliciously savage right? This shall be today's anthem, and i am totally fine with that.

So don't explain
Cause I know exactly what your going to say.
Big words
Recycled phrases, and the bittersweet taste of other boys on your lips.
So now just sit here and talk about how you wanted it all.
Now just sit here and talk about how you wanted it all.

(Wanted it all, wanted it all)
Get me outta the rain, you get me out of my clothes.
Hope I don't make a sound, you hope that nobody knows.

So suck your so called pity down.
Hey, that's not so bad, is it?
So take your cold, cold heart and drown
And don't forget to take deep breaths.
So suck your so called pity down.
Hey, that's not so bad, is it?
So take your cold, cold heart and drown
And don't forget to take deep breaths.

Utah Mix Award: "On the Way Down" by Ryan Cabrera. I love this song but kind of hate the lyrics today. Its still a great tune, props to Marcie for making the best mixes for my Utah trips!!

Gold Star: "Split Screen Sadness" by John Mayer. THIS is why it is today's gold star:

All you need is love is a lie cause
We had love but we still said goodbye
Now we're tired, battered fighters

And it stings when it's nobody's fault
Cause there's nothing to blame at the drop of your name
It's only the air you took and the breath you left

This has been one of my top 5 John Mayer songs since i heard it. Even the name sparks some fantastic imagery. Split Screen Sadness.

Hidden Gem: "Portland, Orgeon" by The Raconteurs. OH MY GOD, this is an amazing cover! I dont know why i didnt know i had it. Jack White produced Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose album and did a duet with her entitled "Portland, Oregon." Its one of my favorites. So i guess since he worked on it with her it makes sense that his other band The Racontuers would have an easy time covering it. It just sounds so badass live, and i love that the guy singing Loretta's part doesnt change articles. Very inclusive, Very appreciated.

this video was one of the first times i saw Jack in anything other than Red, White, or Black. It freaked me out.

More to come tomorrow
