OOOHH that song award: "Leech" by Eve 6. I knew the song by hearing it but not by the name. I get it not - "Sucking on my brain youre the teacher im the student. Leech. totally.

funny story. im standing in line for the green link on campus before class and the crowd waiting for the bus is growing rapidly. The wind was whipping freezing air as the bus rounded the corner. I noticed that there were way too many people than seats as we pushed together trying to get closer to the door. This meant lots of people would be left out in the unbearable cold. I commented to a stranger next to me that i felt like a passenger on the Titanic when everyone realized there wernt enough lifeboats. She kind of laughed and looked confused/scared of me. I forget that people really dont know how to take me.

Gold Star: "Good Riddance" by Green Day. This is one i never skip on a playlist, always turn the volume up for, and am blown away by each and every time i hear it.

"Yellow Sun" by The Raconteurs used to be one of my main jams. It has lost a lot of its power when i relisten to it now, but it would still be worth listening to if you havent heard it.

"Long Time Coming" by The Delays is one of my favorite easy day tunes. There are some serious "thats what she said" moments with the lyrics haha. Heres a free download if you dont already have it. Props to mallo for the amazing band :)

Hidden Gems of the day: "Me and the Moon" by Something Corporate and "Wanted It To Be" by Sister Hazel. Can i have co-gems? meh, i do what i want. The Sister Hazel song reminds me of their track "Your Winter," a classic in my library. I love the slightly toned down emo sound of Something Corporate but have never heard "Me and the Moon." It is one i will definitely be adding to my usual music rotation.

Most. Cliche. Love. Song. Ever.: "Youre My #1" by Enrique Iglesias (i got the spelling right first try!!!). Seriously, like, WTF? how did he not notice the generic-ocity of this song??

I've seen the world from the highest mountain
Tasted love from the purest fountain
I've seen lips that spark desire
Felt the butterflies a hundred times

I've even seen miracles
I've felt the pain disappear
But still haven't seen anything
That amazes me quite like you do

its just stupid, it really is.

cool anthology award: "Helter Skelter" by The Beatles. The original White Album track is amazing, but this version is a little different. It is more acoustic, more like the sound of "Come Together" with the pronounced bass line. I still prefer the original song but this was a cool outtake.

Make me think of schenlah song of the day:"Crossing Jordan Themes" by Lisa Coleman/Wendy Melvoin. I miss that show (not as much as my sister).

FLASHBACKS ----OMG---- "Prologue" by PO Cast is the intro to Beauty and The Beast, as recorded by my father on parents night. i forgot i had those audio files on here... oh no, that means they will be making appearances. Eff. This one is the beginning (prologue. right.) where Mr. McKnight is narrating ("but.. but why?) as the curse is cast upon the castle. What a great fairy tale, if you actually stop and think about it. A+ to Beauty and the Beast, D- for making me remember the show and high school.

I never was a fan of "Masters Of War" in relation to other Dylan songs. This time though it came on as i was driving back over the mountain and the sun was setting. I found it to be calming and take on some new meaning as i tried to feel what the music meant. After that drive i have a new appreciation for the song - take a listen and see what i mean.

Wellll thats it for today. i had another good day of class! this crazy feeling of new hope (unabashed star wars reference) and optimism for 2010 is growing stronger everyday. It is exactly what ive been praying for!!! yay for tomorrow, yay for today :)

P.S. - I have listened to 316 different songs from the blog in 13 days. kind of crazy to think about right?

More to come tomorrow.
