Gold Star: "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" by Bill Withers. I love this song, but i think i prefer Kris Allen's version (gasp!). No matter which one i hear though it pulls at me. There is such a deep remorse and sense of hopelessness in his voice... its haunting and beautiful. I feel like this would be fun to pair up against "Total Eclipse of the Heart" haha. Get it? Cuz the sunshine is gone? no? not funny? k. moving on....
Old School Bus jam of the day slash Brave New Word award: "Soma" by The Strokes. I used to jame to The Strokes' self titled debut on my morning bus rides to high school. This was a fav. Then we read Brave New World in AP English and the drug they all take is Soma. I basically had this song stuck in my head for the entire 3 weeks we covered the novel, It was awesome lol.
